In addition to our water monitoring and water/tributary research teams we have had several other groups doing research on Sunfish Lake this summer. This includes:
– renown professor Claude Duguay and his graduate students mapping the lake and doing hyperspectrum water analysis by a variety of drones,
– H2O Geomatics, a local startup doing water research via drones,
– a group of graduate students who are researching our water temperature with the three buoys of instruments in the lake.
Please be aware that the research drones over the lake are not filming you but are using infrared cameras and other instruments to gather data. Thus, there is no need to call the police on them. We are lucky to have so much research being done on our lake and it will help in the years ahead.
